Regular Agenda Items
It has been a while since we have had a formal agenda, which is probably not a good thing, Since we have a couple of new board members, I'm going to start doing it again. The format stays the same and we have been adjusting over the past year. I suspect we may as well expect this as normal for the rest of the year if the speed of vaccinations in this province has anything to do with it.
New to Linux
Linux-Ottawa Distro Project
Based on a discussion John and I had since the last meeting, we think we should turn this over to someone who is actually new to Linux as the lead and both of us will assist rather than drive, as we are not new linux users. This may move the project along.
I’m volunteering Marc, as he has been quite active in trying things out.
Treasurer's Report
We have visited the bank and once again are amazed at their stellar record keeping.
Individuals present:
We did get the account password reset so we can see online.
The current balance is: $5172.82
The last time anybody logged in was: 2020-05-20
I have reset the password and will be communicating it to the other two signers as soon as I have their GPG keys.
I have John’s key, so I have sent the account details to him. Ian will be next, assuming we can get him using GPG for emails. Worst case, I’ll attach an encrypted file and send it to him.
DATE | TRANSACTION | WITHDRAWAL ($) | DEPOSIT ($) | BALANCE ($) |
01 Jan. | Balance forward | | | $5,172.82 |
31 Dec. | Closing totals | | | $5,172.82 |
Mailing List
I’ve seen emails from the problem children, so it is possible that the flagged system has fallen off the blacklist. Has anyone else heard any rumblings of issues at our end? I’m not talking about the issue that was recently on the list.
John and Tug have your issues cleared up? - the addresses appear to have cleared the black list, so the issue seems to have corrected itself.
Issue deferred until we have something specific to reference
Calendar
Do we want to try using the calendar I dropped on the website last month? I have not done much with it beyond just putting it in place.
If you want to try it out, I will provide an account. Apparently we can create a view that “stacks” events in a common view.
The list of repeating sessions
We should review our repeating sessions list and see if we want to continue them all.
