The Project site for GIMP has a downloads page:

Please download and install from there.
Note that OCLUG will have free CD or DVD media with installers for different platforms at the June 25, 2011, seminar. There will also be some 4GB USB drives available with the software, though we ask for a donation to cover the cost of these.
We hope to provide a list of the software that will be on this media in the near future.
